Since 2008, Boob have increased the use of sustainable materials from 20% to 93% (measured by weight of our total production in 2016). They aim to make that figure 100%. The sustainable materials they use today are organic cotton, lyocell and recycled polyester and polyamide.
Certified organic cotton
Organic cotton cultivation is based on long-term and sustainable methods. The cotton is grown without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers. Choosing organic cotton over traditionally grown cotton means making a choice that is better for cotton farmers as well as the environment.
All Boob production takes place in Europe, 51% in Portugal and 49% in Turkey. They place high demands on their suppliers when it comes to environmental and social responsibility and they only work with factories that respect our Code of Conduct. They don’t just hunt for the lowest price and the speediest delivery. They strive to build long-lasting relationships with producers that share their basic values about human rights and caring for the environment.
For Boob, it is important that their clothes are free from harmful chemicals. Therefore, they require that their suppliers comply with the EU chemicals regulation REACH. Their garments are also certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, which means that they are tested for harmful substances. Boob promises clothes you can safely wear next to your skin and baby.
